About

Names by State helps US parents choose a baby name with real numbers: how popular a name is in their state, whether it is rising or falling, and which names are found almost only there.

The site is built from the U.S. Social Security Administration's baby names data, which records the names given on Social Security card applications. It is free to use, with no login, no email gate and no paywall.

The site gives no parenting or medical advice. It answers one question, from data: how popular is this name, where?
